Timişoara, July 14th 2008 - The design studio X3 Studios launches press.x3studios.com – an online pressroom specifically created to facilitate communication between the company and media representatives.
A process that we started a few months ago is maturing bit by bit - and the first signs are starting to show. I shall return with more details! But for the moment, stay close ;).
Design and Design is an online gallery, which showcases one piece of work a day from two design categories, graphic design and product design. All selected work will be published in “The Design and Design Book of The Year”.
Today, May 26 we ended up here again, this time with the identity materials we created for Poesis.
Less than a year ago I was a student, disappointed of the University I chose. I was still hoping to learn as much as possible in the web design field. I found them by chance, sent them my resume, and they contacted me the very same evening - I was surprised by the promptitude in the quick response. The first person that I met was Andreea, who made a good first impression. The next day I visited them on a very quiet and peaceful street.

The graphic design chosen for yesterday, May 15 was our company’s business cards.
As usual, stay tuned, more to come!

For the 27th of April the materials we created for D’arc were featured on the site. As I was saying before, stay tuned more to come!
Matte paintings are used to create “virtual sets” and “digital backlots”. They can be used to create entire sets, or to extend portions of an existing set. (Wikipedia)
The image from above, a digital matte painting, created by our colleague and Art Director Sorin Bechira, is the result of a challenge launched on CGTalk, one of the biggest digital graphics community. The work was well appreciated and ended up quickly on Spotlight on mattepainting.org in the 5th edition of CG Chosen Magazine, and the people who received our 2008 Calendar can also see it being featured for the month of October.
Usually we can only see such images in their final stage, the question that still remains being: “How did he/she do it?” Fortunately enough for all of us Sorin also wrote a very comprehensive tutorial for 3DM3.com where he explains all the steps he took to create the work.
The tutorial has three steps:
- plate restoration
- plate extension
- digimatte
If you liked this work you can download it as wallpaper from cgwallpapers.com.
Congratulations , Sorin!
